Since the early days of the HIV epidemic, the Florida Department of Health in Hillsborough County has been providing quality healthcare to HIV-infected individuals through a comprehensive system of care that includes: clinical, oral health, case management, laboratory services, medications via the AIDS Drugs Assistance Program and many collaborative agreements with specialists in the community. Most recently, we have added mental health, women’s health, Hepatitis C treatment, and dermatology services.

We provide care to patients eligible for the Ryan White Act, those on Medicaid or Medicaid Managed-Care Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) like Simply Healthcare, WellCare, Medicare and Hillsborough County Healthcare Plan (HCHCP). Some private health insurances including some under the Affordable Care Act.

AIDS Drugs Assistance Program

ADAP is intended to help HIV positive people stay healthy by assisting with the purchase of HIV prescription medications. ADAP provides HIV drug treatments for people who do not have private health insurance, do not qualify for Medicaid or are awaiting Medicaid eligibility and cannot afford to purchase the medications themselves.
