HIV/AIDS 500/501 Courses Area 6

Registration deadline is one week prior to training unless training reaches capacity. Once complete, you will receive an email with the location of the training. Please fill the form outs out completely. Florida Statute 381.004 requires that individuals providing post-test counseling to patients with a positive HIV test result must receive specialized training from DOH.

HIV 500/501 Counselor Training

This 24-hour certification course provides essential knowledge on HIV/AIDS, testing, PrEP, domestic violence, and develops client-centered risk reduction counseling skills for pre- and post-test counselors.

Note for Medical Personnel (MD, PA, ARNP, RN, LPN, RPh, PharmD): Please complete the online training via TRAIN Florida and email your certificate to CHD29Area6TRAIN@FLHealth.gov to register for the condensed (Day 3 only) class.

HIV 501 Annual Update

This required 2-hour yearly update ensures all certified HIV counselors stay current on new forms, processes, legislation, programs, and statistics.
