Florida Department of Health - Hillsborough County

Hillsborough Community Atlas: includes data, graphs, maps, and links related to individual communities and neighborhoods throughout Hillsborough County.

Florida CHARTS: is a one-stop-site for Florida public health statistics and community health data.  It also contains county health profile reports on a variety of topics such as: Chronic Disease, Minority Health, and Florida Healthiest Weight.

Florida Environmental Public Health Tracking: works in partnership with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to track diseases that may be related to environmental exposures. This web site provides data sets on environmental hazards and associated health outcomes. The purpose of these efforts is to inform communities about disease trends and to design interventions that lead to better health outcomes.

Florida Department of Health Statistics & Data webpage:  Provide additional Florida-specific data and health reports, including vital statistics reports, population surveillance reports, annual cancer reports, etc.

Florida Health Finder: provides links to resources for researches and professionals, reports and guides, and information for health care facilities and providers.

United States Census Bureau: contains population-based statistics, including race and ethnicity data.

The American Community Survey (ACS):  is a national survey that is administered on an annual basis.  It samples a small percentage of the population every year.  The purpose of the survey is to provide communities, state and local government, and federal programs with the information needed to plan investments and services.

County Health Rankings & Roadmaps program: is a collaboration between the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. The annual County Health Rankings measure the health of nearly every county in the United States, and include information on both health factors and health outcomes. The annual Rankings provide a snapshot of how health is influenced by where we live, learn, work and play. The rankings can be used to highlight community success, identify root causes of poor health, engage communities in health improvement, and to support policy change.

Healthy People 2030: provides science-based, 10-year national objectives for improving the health of all Americans. Healthy People 2020 strives to:

  • Identify nationwide health improvement priorities.
  • Increase public awareness and understanding of the determinants of health, disease, and disability and the opportunities for progress.
  • Provide measurable objectives and goals that are applicable at the national, State, and local levels.
  • Engage multiple sectors to take actions to strengthen policies and improve practices that are driven by the best available evidence and knowledge.
  • Identify critical research, evaluation, and data collection needs.

The Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS): monitors six types of health-risk behaviors that contribute to the leading causes of death and disability among youth and adults YRBSS includes a national school-based survey conducted by CDC and state, territorial, tribal, and local surveys conducted by state, territorial, and local education and health agencies and tribal governments.
