Tattooing

Environmental Health

Tattooing is defined as a mark or design made on or under the skin using ink, dyes, or pigments.

Tattooing can be separated into two broad forms:

  1. Conventional (as pictured in the image to the right)
  2. Cosmetic (including permanent makeup, micropigmentation, and microblading)

Microblading/Permanent Cosmetics is considered a form of tattooing in the state of Florida.  The practice of tattooing in Florida requires licensure as a tattoo artist and must occur in a licensed tattoo establishment.

All forms of tattooing require licensure in Florida.
