Rock the Ribbon and #KnowYourStatus Florida Department of Health – Hillsborough World AIDS Day Schedule of Events

By Kevin Watler, Public Information Officer

November 30, 2020

The Florida Department of Health in Hillsborough County (DOH-Hillsborough) invites you to Rock the Ribbon and #KnowYourStatus as part of its World AIDS Day schedule of events on Tuesday, December 1, 2020. Working together, we can speak out against the HIV stigma and achieve the goal of Ending the HIV/AIDS Epidemic: Resilience and Impact.

On Tuesday, December 1, DOH-Hillsborough will offer FREE HIV testing, STI/STD screenings, and flu vaccines from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the main office in downtown Tampa, located at 1105 E. Kennedy Blvd., and at the University Area Health Center, located at 13601 N. 22nd Street. To promote health and safety amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, face masks will be required for those who would like to be tested.

In addition to face masks, staff and patients will be actively monitored for #SocialDistancing in and immediately outside of the clinics. For those who would like to be tested for HIV, but not comfortable coming to the health department, there is a limited supply of free at-home HIV test kits. To find out more about ordering an at-home test kit at no cost or contact us at (813) 559-4052

During the free testing and vaccination event at the two locations, community partners will be airing the DOH-Hillsborough World AIDS Day 2020 Virtual Presentation.
