"World AIDS Day is observed every year on December 1. It is a day of solidarity, representing an opportunity for people worldwide impacted by HIV to share their stories and experiences, remember those lost, and highlight efforts on every front to end the HIV epidemic.
This year, the World AIDS Day theme set by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) is "Putting Ourselves to the Test: Achieving Equity to End HIV."
To honor this momentous day, please join the State Surgeon General for the Florida Department of Health, Joseph Ladapo, MD, and Hillsborough and Pinellas County Health Department Health Officers Dr. Douglas Holt and Dr. Ulyee Choe, respectively. As we collectively elevate the voices of those who live and thrive with HIV at the University Area Conference Room and via Teams, they will kick off a holistic community health fair.
The STD and HIV Program in Hillsborough County Health Department, in collaboration with a host of community partners, will put ourselves to the test by providing free HIV/STI testing, Diabetes A1C and blood pressure screenings, vaccines, and much more at the University Area Community Health Center, 13601 North 22nd Street, Tampa, FL 33613, on Friday, December 1 from 8:00 am- 3:30 pm.
