Summary of COVID-19 Vaccination Locations and Requirements in Hillsborough County

Getting a COVID-19 vaccine in Hillsborough County is getting easier for those who are eligible. There is a lot of information, and it changes often, so always visit Hillsborough.FLHealth.gov or HCFLgov.net/vaccine for the most up-to-date information.

In Hillsborough County, there are Federal vaccination locations, State vaccination locations, County vaccination locations, pharmacies, and hospitals that offer the vaccine. Each have different ways to secure an appointment. Below explain the options.

Transportation Help for those with Medicaid

If you have Medicaid and need transportation to get your vaccine, there is help. Florida Medicaid will take you to get the COVID-19 vaccine at no cost. All you need to do is set up a time to get your vaccine. Next, let your Medicaid plan know you need a ride and they will take care of the rest. Eligibility (must fall in one of the following groups)

  • 50 years of age and older
  • Under 50 years of age and deemed medically vulnerable by a physician (form required)
  • Health care workers
  • Family care providers
  • Licensed child care providers
  • Pre-K through Grade 12 school employees (public, private, and charter)

Persons without proper applicable credentials will not receive a vaccine and will be turned away.

 One of the following documents will be accepted:

  • Government Issued ID
  • Organizational identification card or badge for eligible categories
  • Medical license (if applicable)
  • Paystub showing employment for eligible categories
  • W-2 IRS form showing employer for eligible categories
  • An employment verification letter on letterhead for eligible categories

  • Tampa Greyhound Track

    • Daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (weekends included)
    • Carrying out second doses for those who received first dose at site
      • Very limited first dose availability
    • Offers Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson
    • No appointments required
    • Very limited supply of 1st dose vaccine availability

County Vaccination Locations:

Tampa VA staff will vaccinate veterans and family members who meet the criteria below. Visit Tampa VA Events | Eventbrite to schedule COVID-19 vaccination appointments.

 

WHO:
Community members who meet State of Florida Guidelinesand who are:

  • A Veteran NOT currently enrolled (not currently a patient receiving care in the VA), or
  • A family member of ANY Veteran - patient of VA or not
  • A family member of a VA employee
